This Week's Activities

Thiis week my partner and I worked on the build of the chair. We completed the process of drawing the template onto the boxes and cuttting them out. We also completed the powerpont and other presentation we were doing for this project. Our chair stood only one time because the slots we cut for the seat and levelplank of the chair were too big , therefor the chair never stayed in one position. If the chair was stable enough to stand it probably wouldn't hold the weight of a pers. That is because,when wwe were constructing the chair , the cardboard for the seat part got bent and wasn't strong any more. That is some advice . Don't let your cardbooard become bent if it is a necessary component of the chair.

  our presentation is going to look very creative and different compared to others using power point because it was made on the website calle prezi.com. That website make presentations that zoom in and out of frames. just in case we needed it we made a powerpoint presentation.

2-14-2012 Reflection

Today I helped my partner finish up necessary components of the project that were not yet complete.I completed the bill of materials. Today was my catch up day seeing that the next time we meet the final chair has to be done completely and ready for testing. That is all I did in class to and I am finishing the rest at home.

reflection 2-10-12

I completed the design matrix for my chair designs today. Then I attempted to do another prototype of my chair and just stopped. I will continue work on the prototype at my home this weekend. I also added parts of our research and investigation to the presentation. Now i just have to create the bill of materials and the rest my partner will finish up later. My universal model is what I have to complete as well I only have" process" and "feedback" to finish up on it.

Reflection 2-8-2012

Today my team member and worked on the final resentation together. I worked on the intro ductions for each section. I also finished my decision matrix on paper so now I just need to type it into the report. The first half of the report is done for now  i created the charts that we need on the report as well.

Reflection 2-5-2012

Today I worked on the report . I made introduction statements for the different sections I was working on. I critiqued the previous report so that it mat the qualifications of the project.  My partner and I took pictures of a prototype that I made, for the cover page and possible solutions section. I completed  some statement that I need for the possible design solutions. They were on the ten drawings that I drew when I was researching the project. We got a good idea about what we were going to be doing separately to get the report done. Our project is going smoothly so far.

Week One

This week we worked on the miniature version of our cardboard chairs. We were each supposed to create a prototype of the chair we thought would work out most. These prototypes were built out of index cards. My index card chair could stand by itself but when weight was put on it, it began to slant. Although it worked slightly I still tried to improve on the model. 


in our groups we began to work on our reports. We chose different assignment that we thought each member of the group could successfully finish. Because not all people are good at the same things. We learned as a group what it is that our teacher is actually looking for in our report. So now we have some framework set for the report and it's layout. That is what has been completed so far in the cardboard chair process.
